America's definitely going under some changes, but there's an even newer game changer in town: the Queen has offered to reinstate British rule. Blimey! So, to cope with the potential culture switch, here are 14 UK comfort foods for the cookbooks. WARNING: Now is not the time to count carbs.

 1. Trifle

Trifle is basically the parfait's hotter, older sister. In these times, I'll gladly take custard and lady fingers over yogurt and granola.

2. Scotch Eggs

Now is the time to stuff yourself with feelings. That's why someone stuffed an egg into a sausage ball and deep fried it.

3. Toad in a Hole

Missing hot dogs? Eat some Toad in a Hole instead. The name has nothing to do with pork and hot dogs don't either. (See, some things will stay the same.)

3. Steak and Ale Pie

Americans love meat and dessert. Apparently, our British ancestors do too because they COMBINED THEM.

4. Shepherd's Pie

Again, the UK is stuffing an entire meal into a pie. Rarely has a comfort food been so convenient.

5. Eton Mess

No better way to deal with America's mess than to enjoy some Eton Mess. You'll feel like you're swaddled in a fluffy and fruity cloud.

6. Rumbledethumps

Sounds like something out of a fairy tale. Dream about happily ever after with this fried mash up of cheese and vegetables.

7. Fish and Chips

Fish and Chips is basically Britain's version of fried chicken. So, that's Sir Colonel Sanders to you.

8. Bangers and Mash

Feel completely banged and mashed by this election season? Don't worry, love, the UK understands.

9. Cornish Pasty

Like a travel sized shepherd's pie, this item is the perfect way to lie to yourself about portion control.

10. Yorkshire Pudding

Instead of licking your plate, why not just eat it, too? Yorkshire Pudding is basically an edible bowl.

11. Cauliflower Cheese

It’s basically low-carb mac and cheese. Hey, Michelle Obama wanted us to eat more vegetables, right?

12. Treacle Pudding

A fluffy sponge cake with a sweet syrup drizzle, this creation is basically pancakes taken up a level.

13. Spotted Dick

Finally, a food fit for our president! How comforting, indeed.

Well, the mother country has welcomed us back with open arms and a savory home cooked meal. So, whenever you're feeling a bit down, don't forget the amazing power of good food — no matter the culture. It's time to pack on the winter blubber anyway. (Also, I wonder if British Happy Meals come with free Tom Hiddlestons — just a thought.)
