Overall, the celebration of the University of Michigan chapter of Spoon University was a great success.

When I walked into World of Beer on South U, it was nearly impossible to move around. The restaurant was packed with hungry students enjoying delicious food, posing with friends at the awesome Spoon photo station and listening to Hannah Gross and Jilli Davine (two University of Michigan seniors) singing a mash-up of Zedd’s “Clarity” and “This is What it Feels Like” by Armin Van Buuren.

The tables were overflowing with sugary churros from Frita Batido’s, savory sandwiches from Firehouse Subs, hummus and pita from Ali Baba’s and other yummy platters. I could barely see through the congestion of students fighting for the best bite.

Restaurants from all across campus (including Mani, Isalita, The Wafel Shop, Tropical Smoothie Café and others) and organizations like Skinny Girl, EatBlue and Pop Chips donated an abundance of food and gift cards. There was even a huge 6-foot cookie cake that with the Spoon University logo, which made for endless sweet eats for all of the partygoers.

The venue was filled with hundreds of people joined together in one common love: food. The party lasted for over four hours, and the endless supply of food, beer and music kept everyone more than happy. At the end of the night, Spoon University at the University of Michigan sent home over 300 smiling, full and satisfied students.
